Late-night workers gain in BBC deal

Members of the BECTU, NUJ and Amicus unions at the BBC and BBC Broadcast Ltd have accepted a 2.9% pay increase.

Separate bargaining groups in BBC Resources, BBC Worldwide and BBC Technology received pay rises of between 2.5% and 2.8% earlier this year.

This year's BBC settlement had no "bottom loading". It applied grade floors and ceilings to all pay-related allowances, including unpredictability allowances, with a bigger increase (10.5%) on the premium for night hours worked between midnight and 4am. There were other changes in maternity and redundancy arrangements.
