Unite wants members’ input on safety policy
The general union Unite wants to hear from its members about the impact that the coalition government’s policies are having on health and safety
The union is collecting information on the successes that Unite safety reps have had since the coalition was formed, as well as examples of bad practice arising from the current political situation.
Last November, Professor Ragnar Löfstedt published his report on streamlining health and safety legislation and enforcement. The government has subsequently commissioned Löfstedt to review what progress has been made towards the adoption of his recommendations in that report. Unite intends to use any information provided by members in its submission to Löfstedt.
