RMT leadership
Mick Lynch has won the race to become general secretary of the RMT transport union, vowing to “grow our union in every workplace as a strong and dynamic force” and to campaign and fight against pay freezes, cuts to safety and conditions.
Lynch was previously an assistant general secretary of the union. He succeeds Mick Cash who resigned one year into a five-year term due to friction with other senior RMT officials.
Election voting figures were not available as Labour Research went to press.
