Inquiry into future of work
Parliament’s Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee (BEISC) has begun an inquiry into the future world of work and the rights of workers.
The inquiry will focus on employment status and the gig economy, as well as low pay and the working conditions of those working in non-traditional employment relationships.
The BEISC has asked for written submissions by 19 December. Committee chair Iain Wright states that, with “economic and technological changes shaking up the world of work, it’s vitally important that workers are protected”.
