CSP growth
Membership of the physiotherapists’ union, the CSP, has passed the 52,000 mark for the first time.
The record figure reflects steady membership growth of 20,000 since 1998 and illustrates “the continuing expansion of demand for the physiotherapy profession in the UK,” according to CSP chief executive Phil Gray.
The CSP is one of a number of specialist health unions that a Labour Research analysis showed had expanded against the trend for unions since the 2008 crash (see Labour Research, September 2013, pages 10-12).
