Masks obligatory in France
The French government has decided that masks must be worn at work in all cases other than for those in individual offices.
Elizabeth Borne, the minister of labour, made the announcement to a meeting of unions and employers on 18 August.
The rules, which come into effect on 1 September, apply to all enclosed parts of the workplace where people are in the same space, including canteens and cloakrooms.
The CFDT union confederation has welcomed the “clear” decision.
