Stress-related absence
Stress-related absence has increased in more than one in three businesses as a result of heavy workloads and poor management, according to a new survey.
HR organisation CIPD and health plan provider Simply Health surveyed more than 1,000 HR professionals in November 2018 and reported the findings last month.
Nearly two-thirds (62%) identified heavy workloads, which can be attributed to poor management, as the cause of stress-related absence.
And 43% identified management style as the cause, up from 32% the previous year.
