Young members’ conference

The 21,000-member Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union is to hold its first ever Young Members Conference this month, open to members aged 27 or under.

The idea is to build on a union decision to encourage young members to attend the union’s annual conference by giving them an insight as to what is involved.

There will be some training and discussion on matters relating to annual conference, and also presentations from Members of Parliament.

The union has also launched a Facebook page run by and for its young members.
