RMT calls for zero tolerance approach to violence
A new survey by the RMT rail union finds 72% of frontline transport workers have experienced workplace violence in the last year alone, with 90% subjected to violence on multiple occasions and a quarter physically assaulted.
The union warned that while alcohol-related incidents peak during the festive period, the results show work-related violence is a year-round problem for transport workers. It called on employers to take a zero tolerance approach.
