Cyprus unity talks backed
Leaders of the main union confederations in both the Greek and Turkish parts of Cyprus have issued a joint declaration calling for a successful end to negotiations which began last month on a peace settlement for the divided island. The 18 union groups, representing a wide range of political views, unanimously backed a resolution calling for “the reunification of our common country through the procedure of the negotiations”.
