Average earnings

The table below shows the rise in average weekly earnings (AWE) as published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The ONS also produces data on real AWE which take into account the rise in the CPI inflation measure. 


In January, the real increase in AWE was 2.5% — up from 1.6% in December 2015. The real terms rise in the headline rate (the rolling three-month average) was 2.0% In January — up from 1.9% in December.
