Living Wage employer numbers rise

Nine hundred organisations have now signed up to be Living Wage employers, according to the Living Wage Foundation.

This represents a huge growth in the number of accredited employers, up from 400 since Living Wage Week in November 2013.

The 900 accredited Living Wage employers range from KPMG and Barclays to the National Portrait Gallery, Nestlé, Save the Children and Lush Cosmetics. These employers commit to pay the Living Wage and to promote the Living Wage through the use of the Living Wage Employer Mark. A full list can be viewed by following the link below.

The experience for employers who have adopted the Living Wage has been a universally positive one with excellent results for staff retention, morale and productivity.

The Living Wage — which currently stands at £7.65 an hour across the UK and £8.80 in London — is calculated to provide a basic but acceptable standard of living. New rates for the Living Wage will be announced on 3 November.
