New leaders

The Royal College of Midwives, which is a professional association and a TUC-affiliated trade union, has a new leader.

Gill Walton has taken the reins as chief executive and general secretary, following the retirement of former leady Cathy Warwick.

At the Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors Association, part of the Unite general union, broadcaster and campaigner Carrie Grant has been appointed president.
