Whistleblowing Directive in force

The European Whistleblowing Directive No 2019/1937 came into force on 17 December 2019. It requires member states to bring in rules to set up confidential and effective whistleblowing procedures, managed by a named individual or department.

Since it allows member states two years to make changes, it remains to be seen whether these will be implemented in the United Kingdom after Brexit.
