Gender pay gap

Nearly two-thirds (65%) of female students in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) said they would look at their prospective employer’s gender pay gap report before accepting a job, according to a study by recruiters STEM Women.

More than half (54%) of survey respondents said the company’s gender balance would be an influencing factor when deciding whether to take up a job offer, and nearly three-quarters (74%) said they thought it was either extremely, or very, important that an employer had diversity initiatives in place.
