Ritchie wins UCATT vote

Construction union UCATT will have a new leader later this month as Alan Ritchie takes over from George Brumwell, who is retiring after 12 years in the job.

Ritchie won 66.4% of the votes in the second round of balloting for general secretary, which was a run-off between the two leading candidates from the first round. He takes over on 21 October.
