Landmark deal in NHS

The first ever multi-union learning agreement in an NHS national body in England has been signed with the management and maintenance firm NHS Property Services. It covers 3,200 staff.

The four unions involved are UNISON, Unite, GMB and Managers in Partnership, the union for senior healthcare managers in the public sector created by UNISON and the FDA.

The learning agreement supports the role of union learning reps and covers learning needs in English and maths, as well as English for Speakers of Other Languages and apprenticeships. Joint work has already started with regular partnership meetings.
