Maternity discrimination at work

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is also carrying out research into the scale of pregnancy and maternity discrimination at work. It says that, while anecdotal evidence suggests that pregnant women are still experiencing unlawful discrimination, the most recent data goes back to 2005.

The research will investigate employer practices and employee experiences to provide evidence on the extent, causes and effects of pregnancy and maternity discrimination in order to shape government policy.
