Eurostar offer ends dispute with RMT

The RMT rail union's dispute with train operator Eurostar (see September's Workplace Report) ended last month when members voted by nearly 10 to one to accept an improved offer.

The company's salary-banding system has been replaced by a new rate for the job, bringing increases of between 4.4% and 32% for terminals, platform and customer-service team members.

"This dispute was settled because our members across the company stuck solidly together," said RMT general secretary Bob Crow, adding that Eurostar had commited itself to improvements in working time and concessionary travel next year.
