New talks agreed in Slovenia
Representatives of Slovenian unions and employers have agreed to set up a taskforce with the government to look at ways in which dialogue between the three can be restarted. The Slovenian system provides for legislation and government regulations affecting employment and social issues to be discussed in a joint body, made up of the three groups, before they are implemented. In May, the unions pulled out of this body, arguing that the government was adopting legislation without consulting it. The new taskforce will look at ways in which trust can be rebuilt.
