Manufacturing take-home pay rises

Manufacturing take-home pay grew year on year by 3.7% during the three months to March, according to the pay processors VocaLink. In a halt to the recent downward trend, it was up from 2.8% in the three months to February.

Three-month annual growth in the VocaLink FTSE 350 Take-Home Pay Index fell back to 1.7%, marginally down from 1.8% for the three months to February. The last time that take home pay growth was weaker than this was April last year.

The service sector rise for the three months to March was down to just 1.4% from a high of 2.5% in December.

Growth in the VocaLink Public Sector Index continues to waver around the 2.0% mark, slowing marginally in March to 1.9%.
