Raising awareness of age regulations

Age Positive, the campaign run by the Department for Work and Pensions to promote the benefits of a mixed-age workforce, has issued a factsheet for employers on forthcoming legislation to combat age discrimination.

Twenty key facts your business needs to know about age legislation and retirement offers guidance on the new regulations, which are due to come into force on 1 October this year.

The factsheet answers questions on who the law does and does not cover, the default retirement age, and what the regulations say about occupational pension schemes.
