Equality award

An award to recognise individuals whose efforts have had a real impact on equal opportunities in the workplace is being offered by the Wainwright Trust, a charity that aims to promote race and gender issues in the workplace.

The award, of £1,000 and a trophy, is not intended for an equal opportunities expert, but could be won by a trade union official who has secured some improvement in equal rights at work, a worker who has taken a successful discrimination claim that set a precedent, or an employee or manager who has instigated an equality initiative.

Nomination forms are available from David Bell, Secretary, The Wainwright Trust, Town Farm House, Mill End, Ware, Herts, SG11 1LP, tel: 01920 821698.
