An updated version of Legal protection and good practice for gender variant, transsexual and transgender people in the workplace has been published by the Gender Identity, Research and Education Society (GIRES).

The guide reflects the recent passage into law of the 2010 Equality Act, which strengthens and unifies the existing laws that protect gender variant, transsexual and transgender people.

It also explains good practice relating to gender variant, transsexual and transgender employees and what an employer should do when employees say they plan to change their gender role.
