Union merger

Professionals’ and managers’ union Prospect will be bolstered by a further 4,000 members this month when it is joined by the Aspect union for professionals in education and children’s services.

In December 2011, Aspect members voted by 93% in favour of transferring into Prospect.

Welcoming the “overwhelming vote in favour of the transfer”, Prospect deputy general secretary Mike Clancy said Aspect would become an autonomous professional group within the union.
