Action against Finnish dismissallaws

Finnish unions have taken action, including strikes, against government plans to make it easier to dismiss individuals in companies with 20 or fewer employees.

Union figures show that more than a third (36%) of all Finnish employees work in companies of this size, and opposition to the plan has been widespread.

The protests so far have involved action across both the public and private sectors, and the unions have promised to continue them until the government withdraws its plans.
