Pension changes

The French government has started to publish detailed regulations implementing the controversial changes to the pension system, adopted — despite united union opposition — earlier this year.

Regulations changing the retirement age, abolishing the special pension arrangements for industries such as electricity, gas and the Paris transport system, and uprating the minimum level pensions level have already been published. The changes begin to take effect from the start of September 2023.
