Whistleblowers' law kept secret

The independent watchdog Public Concern at Work (PCW) has won the right to challenge, in the High Court, a judge's decision that the details of whistleblowing cases in the employment tribunals be kept secret. PCW argues that it needs to know why and how whistleblowers are victimised when attempting to reveal employer malpractice so it can see how the law is working.

PCW wants the names of employers who are found to have been victimising their employees to be published. So far more than 50 cases have been heard by tribunals but employers have been successfully hiding behind a decision which grants anonymity, made by Judge Prophet, the employment tribunals president.
