Training for black activists

The Communication Workers Union is trying to increase the number of activists from ethnic minorities by holding one-off training schools.

The two schools, to be held on 17 to 20 April, are open to ethnic minority members who wish to become active within the union and will give students a knowledge of the union's structures and its policies and practice in addressing race discrimination.

The union is also holding meetings in London and Birmingham to explore the possibility of setting up local networks for ethnic minority members. The date for the London meeting is Thursday 11 May at 6:30pm at the University of London Union, Malet Street, London, WC1.
