Increase in minimum of AA Band to £9,000 pa. Paid paternity leave increased from 7 to 10 days. A reduction to 14 years service for 30 days annual leave.

Scale minima increased by 10%, no increase on maxima, but protection for those at top of grades. Annual leave 25 days, 30 days after 10 years (all grades). Maternity leave 18 weeks, adoptive leave 40 days paid leave.

G rated staff a further 1.6%, E rated staff a further 2.6%. Underpinning minimum of £500 for G rated staff and £550 for E rated staff. The maxima for grade 1 (highest grade) has been removed. Weekend and public holiday allowances for animal technicians increased to £41.00 band 6 and below and £50.00 band 5 and above.

1.8.00 596 Staff received average pay rises of 3.9%. Rises calculated as cash sums equal to 3.3% of grade maxima and were worth between £380 and £1,723 depending on grade. Bonuses equivalent to 0.5% of average basic salaries (non-consolidated & non-pensionable) were due. London allowance increased to £3,800 at upper level and £3,325 (other grades). Paid paternity leave increased to 10 days. Maternity leave increased to 18 weeks. Paid adoption leave increased to 40 days.
