Apprenticeship guide - Quality and quantity key

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has issued new guidance, with trade union involvement, designed to ensure government funding for apprenticeships delivers for everyone involved. It follows a CIPD employer survey which showed that around a third of employers offered apprenticeships but of the two-thirds that didn’t, most said they believed that apprenticeships were not appropriate for their organisation.

Apprenticeships that work aims to show employers of all sectors and sizes that apprenticeships can work for them. The guide warns that quality is at least as important as quantity or apprenticeships will fail to meet aspirations.

The guidance is available at: www.cipd.co.uk/apprenticeships.
