Occupational disease

Recent figures show that over one million people are suffering from work-related illness and 12,000 people die each year from exposure to harmful substances at work.

Last year, the HSE contacted organisations to consider new approaches to tackling occupational disease and the ideas that have been generated has led to the HSE improving its online presence and community website to promote and share the work that different organisations are doing to tackle the burden of occupational disease, in particular occupational cancer and respiratory diseases.
