Disabled staff bullied and harassed at work

Over half of disabled workers experience bullying and harassment at work, according to a new survey by disability charity Scope.

The survey, based on responses from over 200 working-age disabled adults in employment, found that 53% of disabled people have experienced bullying or harassment at work.

More than one in four (27%) had been bullied by their employer and one in five (21%) had been bullied by colleagues.

The charity says that in addition to focusing on removing barriers to get more disabled people into work, the government must also address the barriers that prevent disabled people from progressing and advancing their careers once in work.
