Two-year deal agreed at Arriva North West

Bus workers at Arriva North West have won a pay 3.2% pay increase, payable from April 2017 to April 2018, following a long-running dispute. The second stage of the deal will provide a 2.6% rise from April 2018.

The 2,000 workers, members of Unite, voted overwhelmingly to accept the two-year pay deal and strike action in the run-up to Christmas was called off. The dispute affected 11 depots across the north west including Birkenhead, Bolton, Macclesfield, Liverpool, Runcorn, Southport, Winsford and Wythenshaw.

Unite regional officer John Boughton said the pay deal was “a considerable improvement when set against the company’s original offer of 0.9% for year one”.
