Online resource to tackle teachers’ workloads 


Scottish teaching union, the EIS, has launched a new online resource to support its Time to Tackle Workload campaign. It includes the TUC, HSE and Citizens Advice resources on mental health and wellbeing and health and safety, as well as guidance from employment service Acas on applying best practice in the workplace. 


“With excessive workload comes an increased likelihood of stress and stress-related illness, which is detrimental to teachers’ health and wellbeing and which also has a negative impact on the learning environment for young people,” said EIS general secretary Larry Flanagan. “This new online resource brings together a range of free, quality assured advice and guidance on a range of issues related to health and wellbeing.”
