The 2002 agreement for local government services in England and Wales has now been accepted. As described in last month's Bargaining Report it is a two-year deal featuring two stages this year (April and October 2002). The total increase for the lowest paid for 2002 was 6.12% (4% other grades) and there will be second year increases of 4.5% for the lowest two scale points and 3.5% for other workers.
