Women airport workers can wear trousers

A campaign by the GMB general union to allow women working for contractor Ground Star at Stansted Airport to wear trousers has been successful. The 150 women, who work on the ground service contract for Ryan Air, were previously only issued with skirts for work that can include meeting a plane on a cold morning. Following a petition organised by the GMB, the company agreed to change the policy and allow women to try out different styles of trousers. The GMB called it "a total victory for the 150 women".
