Black workers' childcare project
The national childcare charity the Daycare Trust has launched a project to discover more about the childcare needs of black and ethnic minority parents and carers.
The trust points out that only 79% of black parents and 67% of Asian parents required any form of childcare in 2001, compared with 87% of white parents.
Director Stephen Burke said: "Childcare can help promote equality and tackle disadvantage but still too many children and families from black and minority ethnic communities are missing out."
