Union secures menopause support

General union Unite has secured a menopause workplace support policy for women employed by Jaguar Land Rover.

It follows a recent Unite survey of 11,000 women union members which found that over 80% of women do not have access to menopause support at work.

The research also found that the lack of help with menopausal symptoms was forcing women to take early retirement (see Labour Research, February 2024, page 24).

The policy offers workplace adjustments, including flexible working; access to fans; and additional breaks and changes to workwear. It is a day one right that can be accessed at any time.
