Paddy Lillis
Paddy Lillis has been re-elected unopposed as general secretary of retail trade union Usdaw. He was the only candidate to receive the required 25 branch nominations and will be serving his second term.
Lillis said the priority was to tackle “the cost-of-living crisis that is having a devastating impact on the lives of our members”.
He called for a minimum wage of at least £12 as a step towards £15 per hour and secure contracts with guaranteed hours.
“It is clear that the Conservatives are not going keep their promise to ‘build back better’, so we have to work to win a Labour government and get [Labour leader] Keir Starmer into number 10,” he added.
