Minimum wages in Spain and Slovenia
Unlike most other EU states, minimum wages in Spain and Slovenia did not increase on 1 January 2023 (see Workplace Report, January 2023, pages 18-19).
The rate has still not been set for Spain, but experts in the Ministry of Labour have suggested it should rise between 4.6% and 8.2%. (Inflation in Spain in December 2022 was 5.7%.)
In Slovenia, the government announced on 12 January that the minimum wage would increase by 12.0% in 2023, with the increase coming into effect on 1 February. (Inflation in Slovenia in December 2022 was 10.3%).
