Personnel changes

David Coats has taken over as head of the TUC's Economic and Social Affairs Department following the departure of Bill Callaghan to chair the Health and Safety Commission. Coats was formerly the TUC's senior policy officer for social partnership, industrial and collective bargaining issues.

Meanwhile the T&G general union has appointed its former South and East Anglia regional secretary, Barry Camfield, as assistant general secretary. He has been replaced at the Southern regional office by Eddie McDermott.
