Minimum wage increases in Luxembourg

Luxembourg has increased the level of its national minimum wage by 3.1%. The increase which came into effect on 1 January takes the adult rate to Euro1,259.75 a month, equivalent to Euro7.28 an hour. This is broadly similar to the Euro1,156.40 paid in the neighbouring Netherlands, although this only goes to those aged 23 and over (see Bargaining Report January 200, page 19). In Luxembourg the adult rate is paid at 18; those aged 17 get 90% of the full rate; and those aged 15 and 16 get 75%.
