Demolition firm fined
Demolition firm Lock Brothers (Plant Hire) has been ordered to pay out over £17,000 after a worker suffered severe head injuries in a workplace fall. Robert Pettigrove fell from an unprotected edge of the first floor of a building being demolished, landing in the basement 20 feet below. He suffered serious head injuries in the incident, which happened in February 2001, and has been unable to work since.
