Pregnancy pay-out
Around 500 female cabin staff will receive compensation worth pst2.3 million from British Airways for pay they lost when pregnant. The women were transferred to ground duties when they became pregnant, losing significant amounts in allowances paid when on flying duty.
Brendan Gold, T&G transport union officer, welcomed the settlement after a three-year battle with BA. He said: "It was an unfair anomaly that when women cabin crew became pregnant and were transferred to ground duties they lost the allowances and, consequently, a significant amount of money".
