Ron Todd
Ron Todd, general secretary of the T&G transport and general union from 1985-1992, sadly died on 30 April.
He started his union career as an activist at Ford in Walthamstow, east London, before becoming a T&G district officer in 1962 and working his way up the union.
The T&G said he "carried the trade union flame throughout the darkest days of Thatcherism, leading the T&G in very difficult years with decency, integrity and commitment."
