Organising in India
A campaign to unionise staff employed in India by Britain's high street banks is being planned by finance union Unifi and the UNI global union confederation.
Unifi is working with UNI to offer representation to more than 50,000 employees in call centres and data-processing operations. UNI has already held a series of meetings in Bangalore and Hyderabad to publicise the services provided by unions.
