Union mergers
The 2,200-member National League of the Blind and Disabled last month merged with the ISTC steel and community union, which has 50,000 members. A second merger was also expected with the 3,233 members of the Scottish Prison Officers' Association being balloted on a transfer of engagements to the Prison Officers' Association (29,563 members) as Labour Research went to press.
