Law queries
* We have an organising committee at an unrecognised site and one of our activists wants to send pro-union emails. What are his legal rights?
In the absence of a recognition agreement there are no rights to time off for trade union duties or activities, nor to trade union facilities like email access. Individual workers do have a right to privacy and this can extend to its exercise while at work but it is unlikely to extend to giving a right to perform trade union duties.
