Northern Ireland membership
Trade union membership in Northern Ireland rose slightly during 1999, according to the annual report of the Northern Ireland certification officer. Total membership in the region rose by 717 to 244,481 while membership of the four unions which organise exclusively in Northern Ireland increased faster, by 419 to 42,659.
